To select the right equipment the cargo owner needs the product data sheet (or MSDS) and answers to ten questions about the product and the carriage conditions.
To select the right equipment the cargo owner must have the product data sheet (or MSDS) and know the answers to the following questions:
Name of the cargo
UN number (if the cargo is dangerous), see the MSDS
Restrictions applying to the cargo, see the MSDS
Maximum filling volume (depending on the carrier's requirements)
Pressure inside the shell during carriage
Any special requirements for the materials of the shell lining and the valves
Required carriage temperature
Whether heating is needed when discharging the product
Position of the filling and discharge devices
Any additional devices or fittings to be installed on the tank container
