Uralchem-Trans and Infotech-Baltika M announce a strategic partnership

Uralchem-Trans and Infotech-Baltika M have announced a strategic partnership and signed a cooperation agreement. The signing took place at the international exhibition Chemistry 2018, where the documents were exchanged by Vsevolod Kovshov, director of Uralchem-Trans, and Alexander Alexeev, general director of Infotech-Baltika M.

Under the agreement the parties intend to cooperate on producing prototype specialised tank containers for the carriage of concentrated nitric acid for the needs of Uralchem.

Vsevolod Kovshov, director of Uralchem-Trans, commented: “We work continuously on diversifying the ways Uralchem products are carried, in order to meet the needs of our customers, above all domestic ones. Increasing the share of container transport is one of the main directions of that work. The agreement with Infotech-Baltika M on developing and supplying prototype specialised tank containers for concentrated nitric acid will allow us, once all the necessary testing and certification procedures are complete, to use an alternative way of carrying a product in demand on the Russian market, and to improve the reliability and stability of supply for our customers.”

Alexander Alexeev, general director of Infotech-Baltika M, added: “We see potential in producing and supplying Russian-made specialised tank containers as an alternative way of carrying products in demand on the Russian and world markets. Under the agreement with Uralchem-Trans on developing and supplying prototype specialised tank containers for concentrated nitric acid, we have completed the first stage of the testing and certification procedures. Because concentrated nitric acid is highly corrosive to most metals, carrying it requires tank containers with an aluminium shell. We are confident that specialised tank containers will improve the reliability and stability of supply for Uralchem-Trans. In the coming years we plan to increase our fleet of Russian-made specialised tank containers.”
